👤 Face Data & Third-Party Processing

To provide complete transparency regarding face data processing:

1. Collection: We collect the image you upload solely for the purpose of generating entertainment content (comedic commentary).

2. Usage: The image is analyzed by AI to identify visual elements (expressions, clothing, objects, settings) to create humorous text content. No facial recognition or biometric data is extracted or stored.

3. Third-Party Sharing (OpenAI): We share images securely with OpenAI's GPT-4 Vision API for processing. OpenAI is our sole third-party processor. We do NOT share face data with any other parties.

4. Our Storage: We do NOT store your photos, face data, or biometric identifiers on our servers. Images are processed in real-time and immediately discarded after the roast is generated.

5. OpenAI Storage & Retention:
• OpenAI retains API request data (including images) for 30 days for abuse monitoring purposes only
• After 30 days, all data is permanently deleted from OpenAI's systems
• OpenAI does NOT use your images to train AI models (we do not opt into training)
• OpenAI does NOT extract, store, or use facial recognition data

6. No Facial Recognition: Neither we nor OpenAI use facial recognition technology, create facial templates, or store biometric identifiers. Image analysis is for entertainment purposes only.

RoastifyAI ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application.

1.1 Information You Provide

Photos: When you use our camera roll roasting feature, you grant temporary access to selected photos from your device. These photos are analyzed using AI and are never stored on our servers. They are transmitted securely, processed, and immediately discarded.
Payment Information: Payment processing is handled securely through Apple's In-App Purchase system. We do not have access to or store your credit card information.

1.2 Automatically Collected Information

Device Identifier: We generate a secure, anonymous device identifier that persists across app reinstalls using your device's secure storage (iOS Keychain). This identifier is used solely to link your roasts, credit balance, and app data to your device, ensuring you maintain access to your purchase history and roast collection even if you reinstall the app.
Usage Data: We may collect information about how you interact with the app, including features used, time spent, and error logs to improve app performance.
Device Information: We may collect device type, operating system version for analytics and troubleshooting purposes.

1.3 Content Moderation and Safety Data

To maintain a safe and respectful community and comply with App Store guidelines, we collect and store:

Content Reports: When you report objectionable content, we store the report details (roast text, reason for reporting, timestamp) to review and take appropriate action.
Moderation Status: If your account violates our Terms of Service, we store moderation information including violation counts, warnings issued, suspension status, and ban status.
IP Address: We temporarily collect your IP address for rate limiting, abuse prevention, and to block repeat offenders who violate our community guidelines.
Safety Flags: We automatically flag content that violates our content policies (inappropriate images, offensive text) using AI-powered moderation tools. These flags are logged for safety tracking purposes.
Reported Content: When content is reported, we may temporarily retain the roast text and associated metadata for moderation review. Photos are never stored, even when reported.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

Generate personalized comedy roasts based on your photos
Process payments through Apple's In-App Purchase system
Improve our AI algorithms and app functionality
Provide customer support
Send important app updates and service notifications
Enforce our Terms of Service and content policies by reviewing reports, blocking abusive users, and maintaining a safe community
Prevent abuse and spam through rate limiting, IP blocking, and automated content moderation
Review reported content within 24 hours and take appropriate enforcement action (warnings, suspensions, or bans)

3. Data Storage and Security

Your Privacy is Our Priority:

Photos: Never stored on our servers. Analyzed once and immediately discarded.
Roast History: We store generated roasts in our secure database (Supabase) including:
- The roast text and meme quote generated by AI
- Your selected comedy style (e.g., Savage, Wholesome)
- Roast type (Normal Roast, Target Roast)
- Anonymous device identifier to link your roasts
- Timestamp of when the roast was created
We do NOT store your photos or any personally identifiable information beyond an anonymous device ID.
Credits and Purchases: Your credit balance and purchase history may be stored to track your account status.
Moderation Data: Content reports, violation counts, suspension/ban status, and moderation action history are stored securely to enforce our community guidelines and Terms of Service.
IP Addresses: IP addresses are collected temporarily for rate limiting and may be stored if blocked for repeat violations. We do not use IP addresses to identify you personally.
Encryption: All data transmitted between your device and our servers is encrypted using industry-standard SSL/TLS protocols.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

OpenAI: For AI-powered photo analysis and roast generation. OpenAI retains images for a maximum of 30 days for abuse monitoring, after which they are deleted.
Supabase: Secure cloud database for storing roast history and user data. Data is stored in secure, encrypted databases.
Apple In-App Purchases: For secure payment processing. Apple's privacy policy governs payment data.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share information only in the following circumstances:

Service Providers: We share data with trusted service providers (OpenAI, Apple) solely to provide app functionality.
Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights and safety.

6. Your Rights and Choices

You have the following rights regarding your data:

Access: You can request access to your data (roast history, credit balance, device ID, moderation status) by clicking "Request My Data" below or contacting us directly.
Deletion: You can request deletion of your roast history and account data by contacting us at support@roastifyai.app. This will permanently delete all roasts associated with your device ID. Note: Moderation records (reports, violations, bans) may be retained for safety, legal, and abuse prevention purposes even after account deletion.
Push Notifications: You can opt out of promotional communications by disabling push notifications in the app settings.
Appealing Moderation Decisions: If you believe your account was suspended or banned in error, you may contact us at support@roastifyai.app to request a review of the decision.

7. Children's Privacy

RoastifyAI is not intended for users under 17. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors under 17. If you believe we have collected such information, please contact us immediately.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new Privacy Policy in the app and updating the "Last Updated" date.
